THURSDAY,
JUNE 19
Drowsy Maggie
8PM
Far
from drowsy, this young, Lafayette-based band delivers high-energy
Irish music. Though the music could be defined as contemporary,
Drowsy Maggie still clings to the deep-set traditions of Ireland.
No strangers to the stage, the band has performed across the Gulf
South for festival crowds and more intimate audiences over the course
of the past 8 years. The trio includes Julia Higdon on the
bagpipes, Pete Dawson on Irish flute and tinwhistle and Mike Lahey
on guitar

FRIDAY,
JUNE 20
Feufollet
8PM
Feufollet
has been a band of young prodigies for so long, it can be hard to
talk about them as just a band. But that's just what they are: a band
of extremely talented and seasoned musicians who continue to explore
the vital music of their culture and region, perhaps with more excitement
and ability than they ever have before.

SATURDAY,
JULY 19
The
Canes w/ Roddie Romero (solo acoustic show)
8PM
The
Canes began with the simple idea of bringing together a group of
seasoned Louisiana musicians with eclectic backgrounds and putting
them in a room together to see what would happen. The result is
a rhythmic mix of bluegrass, alt-country, and folk rock with a distinct
Louisiana flavor. Drawing from influences like Wilco, Johnny Cash,
Nickel Creek, Bob Dylan, and Clifton Cheneir, they’ve created
an infectious, danceable groove that is, at once, fresh and familiar.
The Canes are set to become a real presence in the deeply-rooted,
regional scene and beyond.
Roddie Romero rocks out critically acclaimed South Louisiana rockin'
and pumpin' Cajun, Zydeco, along with introspective originals. A
celebrated band that authenticates tradition yet pushes the future
of swampland music. Described once as the "Los Lobos"
of Louisiana music.

SATURDAY,
JULY 26
Kevin
Sekhani w/ Backbone Stew
8PM
Kevin
Sekhani may not be a household name, but his voice is wellknown
to listeners in the music capital of Austin, Texas. A native ofLafayette,
LA, Kevin has been active on the Texas scene for the pastdecade
as the voice of Radio Thieves' rootsy pop, the glam-technostylings
of Two Minute Sinatra and the baroque, power-pop of Parade.
Parade lives on as the 'Pet Sounds-side' of Kevin's personality, but
with long-time musical partner, Ty Hurless, and Tim Veillon Kevin
has started gigging and recording a solo album that owes much more
to his Louisiana'roots' musical heritage. Along with new band members,
Jorge Castillo ,Robert Chacon and Michael Lamendola, a new sound
has emerged that hasbeen described as 'Van Morrison fronting the
Old 97s or John Mellencamp's band'
Keep a watch for a new record and a new sound in 2008, and pass
the word along that Kevin is still blazing new trails and crafting
hooky and heartfelt tunes along the way.
